From the age of about 13 onwards, I have actually suffered from higher-than-seems-normal levels of anxiety, and while I’ve mainly come to terms with being jittery and a bit doomy, I definitely would not mind being less so. I’ve had counselling prior to, and it does help.
And drawing back from my own (relatively subtle) issues for a moment, could e-counselling be the answer to the mental health concerns escalating among under-30s? In cases of mild depression, the NHS is now directing some patients towards online programs instead of face-to-face counselling, a phenomenon that worries Dr Balick.

That’s not great if it’s rolled out just to save money and there aren’t critical questions being asked about these services. But then, I’m constantly very sceptical of people who are either extremely extremely professional or extremely very against online psychological health care. It’s a case of asking the ideal concerns.”
